Brackley Junior Tri – 02 Oct

Well it’s just over 6 months ago since I wrote the first race report for the 2016 season for the Dinton duathlon event on Good Friday. Thankfully this weekends race was at Brackley on a very autumnly Sunday morning.

Thankfully this weekends race was at Brackley on a very autumnly Sunday morning. TS3 got the racing under way and despite a long run from the swimming pool to transition the first triathlete out onto the course was wearing his IRC tri suit was the dynamic triathlete Daniel R who again stamped his authority for the second weekend in a row on the rest of the field he out shone everyone else and stormed home 1st in 28.52. Well done to Fred A who also represented the club in his last race for us. Good luck Fred for the future.  Mabel S was on her best form yet of the season and despite being held up on the swim managed to work her way through the field on the bike and finished with a solid run coming home 1st in 34.19. A great finish to the season!

TS2’s were represented by Freya W coming home 16th for the girls. Aaron C finished 9th and Ned D 13th. TS1’s 30 boys in the field and coming home in 5th was Eddie B in 17.23 this is only his first year as a TS1 and I am looking forward to next year as I have high expectations for what Eddie will deliver, that elusive podium finish? Also wearing club colours were Kai N 13th, Jonty D, Thomas M, and Joe B. All of you have come away with areas to focus on over the winter training sessions.

Speed springs to mind when the TSS’s take to the race course and racing really is fast and furious a superb race from Charlie D 1st in 9.00 2nd went to Freddy I in 9.06 and despite having a fall from his bike Thomas R finished with a strong run. Flying the club colours for the girls was Niamh A who came home 5th in 11.41.

Well done everyone a good days racing and looking forward to 2017.
