Eton Dorney Junior Open Water Event

Team Cherwell Juniors travelled to the epic open water SuperTri Junior event at Eton Dorney.  A beautiful setting on a warm day set the tone for good days racing.  As always competition was tough at this event as it always attracts the best of the best in all age groups on a draft legal day of racing for our TS2 and TS3 triathletes with IRC places being up for grabs.  All our Juniors put up a good effort and raced hard on the day.

In TS3’s Daniel Roberts was on top form again finishing off his event with an amazing run to finish 1st in his age category again!  Which means automatic qualification to the IRC event at Mallory Park in late August representing the South Central Region.  All our TS3 and TS2’s competitors finished mid field in their age categories and raced well and finished strong, so well done Richard, Mabel, Freya, Izzy and Aaron.

For some of our younger competitors who have moved into TS1 this year, this race would have been their first open water event and they all coped well and enjoyed the experience of racing this very prestigious event – Well done Thomas a very creditable 14^th, Freddy and Alfie.  The open water training at Stowe has obviously helped these three.

Next race on the calendar is our home event at Sibford – Looking forward to seeing you all racing in the Team Cherwell colours.
