Southam Triathlon April 2019

A grey and chilly day saw the first Grand Prix Race of the season for Team Cherwell Juniors. Despite the cold weather the rain stayed away and spirits were high amongst the competitors, racing across the TS to TS3 distances.

Set in a local college a well laid out course offered competitors a short transition from the indoor pool leading to a bike and run course set on grass. A challenging bike course with tight turns tested our juniors bike handling skills.

Organised by Southam and District Lions Club this event never fails as an intro to our racing season, close to home with a friendly helpful atmosphere which enables Juniors to participate in a friendly triathlon experience.

Congrats to our newest club members who raced for the first time today: Connor Parsons, Dylan Prewer and Imogen de Pennington and to Alex Cross who is in his second year with the club and achieved 2^ndplace overall in the TS1 category.
