Stowe Lake Swimming – cancelled until further notice

Dear members,

Unfortunately, the glorious weather we are having has lead to unprecedented weed growth in Stowe Lake, as some of you may have found recently. The National Trust has confirmed that it would be too costly for them to undertake any clearing exercise.

Thus, the committee have sadly had to conclude that the volume of weeds presently renders it unsafe to swim in Stowe lake until further notice, but it is unlikely the situation will resolve itself before the end of the season.

We thank all those who volunteered to be safety this season, and hope to see more of you there next year.
